Part One of Four: Premiership
As you have probably heard, today all 92 English teams (plus Scottish clubs) have discovered who and when they will be playing in the forthcoming season due to start on August 6th. Everyone is now getting excited for the 2011/12 campaign to begin and expecting a fascinating summer as the transfer window and managerial appointments are coming to place.
I don't want to blabber too much on the set up and would like to show you how I think the Premiership, as well as Championship, League One and Two will shape by May 2012 - then we'll be excited for the 2012/13 season!
This is how I'm going to do it: I will produce photographic evidence of the final table. I will have to thank BBC Football Predictor for providing me, and others with a way to predict football matches. For years I have been using this website and it's been a useful tool. Just to let you know, this is a bit of fun. None of the things I say are speculation, but predictions, if the season ended the way it will. Hope you enjoy it anyway.
Prewarning - I have predicted the Premiership for the fifth year and never got the champions right. Whenever I say Man. United will win, Chelsea have won and vice-versa. You can view my May blogpost so you can see my performance and I'm sure next May, I will analyse my predictions.
Anyway, let's get this predictions analysis underway. Do not want you at the edge of your seats...

Anyway, let's get this predictions analysis underway. Do not want you at the edge of your seats...
As you can clearly see, Man. United have won their 20th top flight table and again, Liverpool fail to reach a Champions League place. Man. City improve on their 71 points in the 2010/11 season, but still finish nine points behind their arch rivals. They will probably spend big this summer, but Man. United have also had their say in the market.
Sir Alex Ferguson, who's appointed as a Lord in January 2012 announced that he will be coaching Man. United for a further two years and hopes David Moyes would replace him in May 2014. Both Scots shake hands to a deal.
Chelsea's new manager Guus Hiddink (this is just a prediction remember) fails to win a trophy to add to Roman Abramovich's cabinet and rumours are spreading of Jose Mourinho's imminent return after failing at Real Madrid for the second consecutive year. It's been another frustrating season for Chelsea as, despite their win at Stamford Bridge against Man. United, dropped points against Arsenal, Liverpool and Man. City away from home.
Arsenal have won the cup double defeating Sunderland in League Cup final after extra time and comfortably beating Fulham in the FA Cup final. No Premiership team made it to the Champions League final but Man. United crashed out of the competition in the semi-final stages losing to AC Milan who defeated Man. City in the previous round. Arsenal went out of the round of 16 losing to Barcelona who knocked out Chelsea in the quarter final. The Catalan giants edge out AC Milan in the final 1-0.
All newly promoted teams who went up last year have managed to stay up. Norwich were in the bottom three for most part of the season but their draw at Aston Villa on final day was enough as Fulham lost 2-0 to Tottenham. Swansea City produced an inspiring performance during their Premiership debut as Brendan Rodgers was declared best manager of the season, according to LMA. QPR also excelled in their return to the Premiership but was overshadowed by Neil Warnock's shock resignation the night before their final match against Manchester City at the Eastlands. They lost the match 2-1.
Martin Jol keeps his job as Fulham boss as he promises his fans and convinced al-Fayed and the board that his side will return to the Premiership within the year but Roy Hodgson's future at West Brom has been settled and Dave Jones returns to football action taking over as their boss.
Wigan Athletic are in the Premiership for yet another season, but had to confirm their survival on the last day again. They were 16th before the final match and results went their way on the day. Wolves and Stoke City are to celebrate another year at top flight.
All eyes in 2011 summer were on Alex McLeish and how his Aston Villa side will cope this season. Judging by their very comfortable 10th place finish, he has won over some of the fans but most hope for better next season as they hope for another Martin O'Neill-type revolution.
North east rivals Newcastle and Sunderland enjoy yet another great season, both sides ending in the top ten. Alan Pardew at some point was favourite for the Chelsea job after Hiddink's departure until negotiations broke down but Toon Army have yet again proved that their relegation in the 2008/09 season was a one-off.
That was my Premiership predictions. Just to remind you, they are predictions. If they are true (doubt it), then I would regret not betting anything at all.
I hope you stay tuned for my other three parts in the next seven to ten days as the next divisions will produce interesting results, I'm sure.
