Get well soon Cheryl and why Brazil will be a success

Wishing Cheryl the quickest of recoveries
It's not very nice to see anyone in poor condition. Although Cheryl Cole, I mean Tweedy is not the most popular celebrity around, I think we should support her through her difficult times.
I remember when Kylie Minogue was first diagnosed with breast cancer. It was terrifying for the world to hear this catastrophic news and support was flooding through her fan base. With Cheryl, however it maybe different. Miss. Minogue is portrayed as a generous female and a talented individual who is now in her fourth decade in the TV industry.
However, Ms. Tweedy has made a name for herself in the girl group Girls Aloud and being a judge in the X-Factor. Also, being the centre of attention when she was on the verge of break up with Chelsea left-back, Ashley Cole. Yes, I was slightly annoyed by the amount of publicity she was given regarding this separation but. Who wasn't? But in the end of the day, we need to give her support and less recognition during her difficult times.
She does need rest and in order to do that, the likes of Heat and Now magazines have to leave her alone.

Kelsey's decision disappoints me but what did I expect?
This is the news that Kelsey Grammer is to have his show based on right-wing thoughts. He has been known to have been in support of the Republican party of the United States and he's to follow the footsteps of the likes of David Letterman to have his own talk show on TV.
He's had his own talkshow - as a radio psychiatrist in the US sit-com, Frasier. I am a huge fan of this show and Dr. Frasier Crane is an influential character when he's talking to the other characters in his radio show.
This will probably mean that this new show will be a success. It will possibly be funny, witty and intelligent. So what's the problem?
I don't consider myself as a right-wing supporter. That's a start. Now politics is a massive influence when it comes to any decision. I'm a big fan of Kelsey Grammer. He is funny, yes. He is witty, yes. He is a fantastic actor, of course he is. But my fear is that he will be controversial about the current government and foreign policies, it will put off fans like me. I hope it's a fear and I hope that the show is a success. We'll just have to wait and see.

Brazil 2014 will be more successful than London 2012
This headline may sound harsh as it's a very long time until both competitions start. Brazil, the next host nation of the World Cup has unveiled the new logo for the tournament.
If you look at the logo, I'd be surprised if you liked it as much as I did. It looks brilliant and already Brazil 2014 will be a success whoever. This reminds me when London first unveiled their logo for the next Olympic games. It's a privilidge for the UK to be hosting such a prestigious event. My first impression for this logo was "WHOA! What on Earth is this?!". It looks hidious and it seems as if I can't get myself into liking it.
This however doesn't mean that London 2012 won't become a success but it would attract more people who aren't interested in sport if they'd changed it to something bearable. The Olympics already is costing a fortune and the new stadiums are delayed. These games have to improve before it becomes a disaster. We have a lot to look up to after a brilliant Olympic games in Beijing so it's time to change.

The ultimate Bond review

Bonds from left to right: Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, Daniel Craig, Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and George Lazenby (Image: Daily Express) Earlier this year, I set myself a challenge - an unserious one at that. yet it was something I took seriously. For years, I have been fascinated by the James Bond franchise but only based my interest on Daniel Craig's films, which were the only ones I had seen up to that point. April this year, I couldn't answer the important questions - what was my favourite Bond film? Who played the iconic character best? I could tell you which song I rated the highest because I knew and love each of them - I feel the 'Bond theme' is a genre of its own, they are that good. So over the last six months or so, I did it. I watched all 25 films, in order from Dr No to No Time To Die. Yes, there are two other 'unofficial' films - Never Say Never Again and the 1967 version of Casino Royale. While they included Bond as the protagonist, they aren...

JSPrice Person of the Year 2024: Elon Musk

Elon Musk and Donald Trump (Image: AP News) When TIME Magazine picks its 'Person of the Year', it's never because the title's editors 'like' a certain individual or group of people. The 'accolade', if you ever want to call it that, is often chosen based on an influencer who has delivered the greatest impact or had a 'big' year, regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the said person/people's agenda. So when the title picked Donald Trump this time around, it's not because the editors enjoyed how he defeated Kamala Harris to be the next President of the United States. It was because he had one crazy 2024. There were times when we were led to believe he could be behind bars, having appeared in court for at least four different, serious cases. The Politico website has an excellent ' tracker ', so we know exactly what he's been accused of. Despite this, on Monday 20th January 2025, Trump will be sworn in for his second te...

A divided world cannot afford another Trump term

Donald Trump with Vladimir Putin (Image: The Atlantic) This time next month, we get to find out whether it is Kamala Harris or Donald Trump to replace Joe Biden as President. For the first time since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968 , the chief in the White House is not seeking to fight on.  Biden didn't want to step back. Right up until his final decision, he stubbornly insisted he was the right person to take on former President Trump for a second time. However, questions were being asked about his wellbeing as the 81-year-old had been seen stumbling his words and steps , panicking key Democrat politicians and donors . Their warnings were stark and quite honestly, if he was to carry on by the party's convention, I doubt he'd have been endorsed by his peers. He, nor they, could afford any division when there is threat of another Trump administration looming. It's hard to define Biden's presidential legacy. I suppose he secured it in November 2020 when he defeated Trump w...
