Do the Conservatives know what benefit mean?

Watching BBC News and being a key follower of the political party season, I am disgusted by the actions taken by the Conservative Government to slash child benefits for the higher tax payers from 2013.

Yes, they may be the "better off" members of the public but every parent I know admit that raising a child under any circumstance is very difficult. It takes a lot of dedication and the Government has to encourage and praise their hard work. A little bit of extra income will not effect the country's over-growing debt which is going on. Especially when the "higher tax" will bring the "better off" wages lower to a sum which is almost similar to the people who have lower tax. In my opinion, the tax rate here is far too high considering the average annual wage is less than £20,000.

The population is increasing, and increasing fast. In the last nine years, we have seen 2 million more births which is continuously adding to the UK population. It's a lot of babies, even though we're known as an ageing population. I am predicting that people who want to be parents for the first time have to put their family plans on hold and wait until it's too late. It discourages people to add to the population just because they cannot afford to raise a child.

One mum from Bristol who has young children was interviewed by BBC after the Chancellor, George Osbourne announced the plans. She will not receive child benefits for her child as her husband receives less than £1,000 more than the required amount to receive the child support. She is also disappointed by George Osbourne's plans and now has decided not to go for family activities in the future as she has high-price bills to heat the house and cook meals etc to pay for.

A "benefit" is something which this Government doesn't seem to understand. It's a benefit. A small contribution which will help an individual. They're also cutting income support which is going to effect the disadvantaged. So who are Government benefiting with all of the cuts? Although cuts in some areas are necessary, they're hitting the people of Britain worse rather than the companies who get all the benefits such as the rich bankers with millions of pounds worth of bonuses. This will make more of them to move away from UK and go to places as far as Australia so they can benefit from their lower tax and better lifestyle at the same time.

This will cause even more problems for the Conservatives. They don't like illegal immigrants, we all know that - it was emphasised during the General Election. The immigrants don't like living in their countries due to lack of opportunities and simply, their dreams are to reside to Britain. And the UK are brilliant at advertising the best points of the British Isles. So it's bound to interest the foreigners to come and live in the UK. And the Tories can't stand it - don't ask me why. In my eyes, they're just taking the jobs the British public don't want and may I say, they're doing a really good job.

That's beside the point, benefits are beneficial and are here for the keeps and if the Tories are planning to scrap them, then they will have to face a decline in support and their faces will turn to Ed Miliband.

Splitting Britain to its eventual death

Londoner Mo Farah and Sheffield-born Jessica Ennis-Hill set to see their cities drift away from Westminster bubble (Image: Daily Mail) I don't know about you, but I'm loving this year's Olympics. The daunting talk about Brazil's corrupt politics, high levels of extreme poverty and the doping scandal are secondary topics for discussion while the spectacular sporting action and country's tourism boost are dominating headlines. But for me, I've been particularly impressed by UK's togetherness in pride for Team GB's overwhelming success so far. The country's dominance in rowing and cycling is something worth celebrating and hopefully they can provide a new wave of inspiration for many that London 2012 sadly couldn't. With Team GB continuing to shine in Rio de Janeiro, it's a big shame that back at home, political leaders are going out of their way in breaking up the country. In this rate, come Tokyo 2020 Olympics or whoever hosts the 2

Sepp Blatter mustn't resign, yet

Fifa President has to clean-up his mess before deciding to leave Living in Blatter-land World football governing body, Fifa's President Sepp Blatter has been under the spotlight for the second consecutive week and again for all the wrong reasons. Last week he banned British isle national sides from wearing a poppy branding the flower "political" but this time around, on countless interviews with major broadcasting companies yesterday, he controversially said that "there is no racism in football" and if racism occurred in a match, then players involved must handshake at the end of the game. This has sparked anger across the world of football including hierarchies of the English Professional Football Association (PFA), football players such as Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand and pundits alike. After hearing those comments by Blatter, people such as myself would bang our heads on brick walls. Today, the 75-year-old went to clarify his previous afterno

Settling the transgender debate like grown-ups

Flag that represents the trans community (Image: The Age) The 'transgender debate' has been hard to escape in recent years. It's impacting many areas of our lives, including in schools , work and sport . Sadly, the media narrative of these stories has made it impossible to rationally discuss how to best support people who have decided to make this life-changing decision, or how to assure their 'opponents' that they aren't being cast aside, or their rights have been taken from them. I'll try and analyse this as level-headed as possible and conclude what we (UK as a whole) should be doing, as a way of being a world leader on what is seen as a divisive matter, where it ought not to be. The current narrative is arguably led by two very different sides - one, the so-called 'pro-trans' groups, who combatively argue that people who want to transition should have easy access to basically everything; from legally changing their gender, to requiring advanced
